Art quote of the day

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe "Personality is everything in art and poetry."

Well, what is personality? Does it mean something that is different from the general public?

But where there is difference, there is misunderstanding, and worst still, ill feelings...

Think of the life of Vincent Van Gogh. He lived a lonely life, especially during his prime artistic years. But his works are instilled with so much passion and vibrant feeling that you cannot deny them being great. But he was not accepted by most, not even the one he called friend. This drove him into insanity, and shot himself in his beloved wheatfield.

What is life if you have a "personality"? It might be hell for you personally, but it might result in great works of art for the human race. Is that sufficient cause to be different and thus the sufferings?

Hmmm....

I think to be different from the general public is not a problem, the key is to be peace with your self.

Personality is given, but to be different or not is a free choice. To be peace with one's own choice is most important.
